Sorry to do that again, but at this point I have to post another 'negative' journal.

Honestly, no matter where I go and tell my opinion about certain issues, there are ALWAYS some idiots, who say I am wrong and they're right.

And no, I am NOT talking about Sonic this time.
In fact, it was an utterly different subject.


Let's say, I was talking about how unfair it is, if ppl make use of game-flaws to get an easy win in online games.
(Okay, I was talking about one specific online game, but I don't want to tell details)

And of course, at one point one guy came and told me that it's actually a strategy (flaw or not) and my fault for allowing them to make use of it.

While I don't want to sound disrespectful, this was a very stupid way to look at it.
So it's my fault if the opponent gets inside a wall or something and kills from there?
It's my fault if the opponent never gets damage, despite how much I hit him?
(Like in Metroid Prime Hunters)
It's my fault if the game constantly spawns you on the same positions and the opponent is just waiting for you to appear there and kill you again?

There are much more points I could list, but I think that's enough for an example.
Well sorry, but I don't see why this should be my fault.

An online game in general, regardless of it's shape, is about having fun and respecting the other players.
However, if players do everything to get an easy win and start to make use of flaws or even cheats to win, this is where my tolerance comes to an end.
It's nothing respectful anymore and it does ruin the fun for others, no matter how you look at it.


And sorry to say that, but I find it unbelievable that some ppl are actually thinking of it as a strategy.
Honestly, if a 'strategy' forces the opponent into a major disadvantage with low to no chances of getting out of it, I can no longer think of it as a strategy.
It's more of an 'anything to win' attitude to me, which does ruin online games, if it gets out of hand.

And now don't tell me that I don't support strategies. Hell, no!
Whatever strategy you make up, it's fine really.
AS LONG as both sides are equalized and have the same chances of winning (not counting skill here).


What I am trying to say is:
When you play online games, make sure that the opponents have the same winning chances that you have.
Don't take it away from them!

UPDATE:
I do NOT want to say that skilled players should be holding back.
Whoever is more skilled will probably win more.
It's fine really. (Plus, I said 'not counting skill'

Although holding back would be a real gentleman-attitude, it's not really neccessary.

But cheap tricks like cheats and flaws of the game should NOT be used IMO.
Play it normally, with your own skill and let the other's have their winning chance.
(Again, regardless of the player skill)
