Anime RD Test Sprite (WIP)

UPDATE: Included zoomed in version.

I struggled with this one for a time.
But the newest page of 's comic gave me the material I needed to make this one.

Like the title says, it is a test-sprite. I will continue to work on this to make it better.

I am still a beginner, when it comes to spriting.
But since I plan to get into video game making, it is an essential skill.
So yeah, gotta work hard to improve here and get the necessary skills.

My plan is to make a complete sprite sheet here, that could be used for an actual video game.
What kind of game you ask?
Well picture Mirror's Edge in 2D-platformer style. That is what I am going for here.

I am unsure if it should include fighting or not.
But should I decide to include that, it would be strictly hand-to-hand and kept very simple.
Of course, Mirror's Edge esque momentum based attacks would be there too.
But that is only, if the decision is made to include some fighting.

In any case, I think you got what I am going for.


But yeah, gotta improve those spriting-skills.

One problem of mine is that I still seem to struggle when it comes to choosing proper shading-colors.


And another thing I am wondering: Should the sprite be bigger?
Currently the sprite is 96 pixels high? Should be is increased a little or is it good as it is?

Yeah, trying to learn here.


In any case, it might take a long time, but you can surely expect to see a sprite sheet of this.
