NOTE: This is just an idea, not a request!

Sonic R Turbo Drift is a sequel to Sonic R.
You choose either Sonic or one of his various friends and villains.
Run with Sonic speed through familar worlds.
And compared to these tracks, even the best roller coaster looks like a harmless ride.
Up to four players can compete each other via splitscreen or challenge up to 19 opponents via WiFi.
System: WII
Based on F-Zero GX and Super Mario Kart

Controls:
You can freely choose between WII-Remote + Nunchuck, Gamecube Controller or Classic Controller.
NOTE: Since I never played with a classic controller, I won't make a control list for it.

GC Controller:
Control Stick: Steer
A: Accelerate
B: Break
Y: Ring Boost
X: Items (?)
L or R + Stick: Drift
L or R tapping twice: Attack

WII-Remote + Nunchuck:
Control Stick: Steer
A: Accelerate
B: Break
Z: Ring Boost
C: Items (?)
Turning WII-Remote ca. 90 degrees left/right + Stick: Drift
Shake WII-Remote to left/right: Attack

Gameplay:
As I mentioned above, you run very fast through Sonic-usual tracks and try to get the first place within three laps.
It is easy. With the Control Stick your character will move to left or right.
Hold A and your character will accelerate and press B to break.
Press L or R/turn the WII-Remote 90 degrees left/right and your character will slide through curves, without losing speed.
Tap L or R twice/Shake the WII-Remote to left/right to attack opponents to either the left or right of you.
If you hit someone, he/she will lose rings and speed. But it also suddenly moves you a bit to left or right.
Press Y (GC)/Z (Nunchuck) to use your rings in order gain a speed boost anytime, as long as you have enough rings.
However, the ring booster isn't available in the first lap.
With X (GC)/C (Nunchuck) you can use one of the items, you have collected. Refer to the item section.

So, now onto objects and terrains on the track:

Rings: The more you collect, the better defense you have against others attacks.
You lose rings however when you get attacked. If you have 0 rings, you can easily get pushed around.
So try to prevent that. If you fall off course an Omochao will take you back, but also takes 2-5 rings from you.
You always start with three rings at the start of a race.
Plus, if you use the ring booster you will lose 10 rings per boost.

Booster: Everyone knows these Sonic-typical fast running conveyor belts.
Run over it and you gain a speed boost, thus increasing your speed for a short time.

Spring: Also self-explanatory. Running over them will cause you to jump into the air.
Usually used to cross gaps.

Rails: If you run into them, your character will automatically jump and grind on them.
If there are more rails to the left and/or right to you, you can use the Control Stick to jump onto other rails.

Egg-Mines: Some tracks have these. Running into them will cause them to explode and cause damage to you.
Aka, you lose many rings and speed.

Ice: Running on ice will cause your character to lose traction, making it hard to control your character.
Note: Ice =/= Snow

Magma field: Running on Magma will cause your character to lose rings one by one.
Run on Magma without rings for some hilarity, but you'll lose speed then.

Dirt: If you run on dirt your speed will decrease.
However, it will not if you use the ring booster.

Items:
There are many items on the track, which can either attack enemies or get yourself an advantage.
Items are found in silver jars, spread around the track. Run into them to get the respective item.

Ring +5/+10/+20/+50:
Are automatically activated, once you get them. You will get respective number of rings.
The +50 one is rare.

Ring +?:
Also automatically activated. You will get a random amount of rings.

Sneakers:
Once you activated this, your speed will increase.
Plus, your acceleration stat is maxed.
Aka you can get max speed in about one second.
This effect only lasts for a short time however.

Ring Shot: A red ring, which you can shoot against the enemies.
Opponents hit by this will suffer a great loss of rings and speed.

Homing Ring: A red-blue ring, which will follow the next racer and most likely hit him/her.
Opponents won't lose as much rings as speed with a regular ring shot, but the homing ability makes up for it.

Ring Shot x5: As the name says, five regular ring shots... with a bit less attack power.
A rare item.

Barrier: Also a classic Sonic item. Use this and a green barrier surrounds you for a short time.
During this time, normal attacks, Egg-Mines and Magma fields will not cause damage to you.

Light Aura: The classic invincibility Sonic item.
Use this to gain more speed, invincibility and the ability to ram enemies to cause great damage.
It'll last for a short time.

So, that sums up the gameplay of this game.

The game modes:

Grand Prix:
Enter the grand prix and try your hardest to get the first place in every race.
The better the rank at the end of the race, the more points you get.
The character with the most points at the end of a cup is the champion.
There are three Cups at the beginning, each having six races: Ring Cup, Sneaker Cup and Emerald Cup.
Two more cups can be unlocked.

Time Attack: A race alone against the clock.
Choose any character and course and try to get the best time.

Single Race: Choose any character and any course and race against 19 opponents.
Just a race for fun, the result won't affect your profile.

Multiplayer: Just like Single Race, only that this is for up to 4 players.

Story: Play this large mode and get to know the story behind this racing game.
More details below.

Replay: Watch the race replays you have saved.
You can also choose between different camera angles or watch from the view of all the other runners.

Edit: Create your own characters and/or your own courses.
Save them on your WII System or your SD Card.

Options: Change various game and sound settings.
A tutorial is also available here.

Profiles: Watch all the Character profiles and information you have unlocked.

WiFi: Race against players from all over the world. Up to 20 players can race each other.

About the Story Mode:
This is a mode like Sonic Adventure.
You run on an overworld map and look for events.
There are three types of events:
Normal Events, Story Events and special events.

Normal events are just simple races against random characters.
Not anyone you can play as though, but NCPs. Other (rather insignificant) denizens who got their hands on a Turbo module.
Story Events are important ones, in order to proceed with the story.
Special Events are well hidden and can grant you massive EXP and maybe even an unlockable secret.

Speaking of which, for each race you won you get EXP.
If you gained enough you level up and can improve your stats.

The Story: Tails is known for being a great inventor. His last invention he worked on, was the 'Turbo Drift Project'.
And he finished the invention recently. It was a module, everyone can attach on their shoes in order to gain the ability to run at Sonic Speed.
Sonic was excited about this and he wanted to test it out. So he, Tails and Knuckles had a race.
And indeed, it worked: Tails and Knuckles were running very fast, just like Sonic.
...
The news spread out like a wildfire and it eventually was the birth of the great Sonic Grand Prix.
Tails also decided to rename the invention to 'Turbo Module' as it doesn't sound so complicated.

So that should explain everything. And that is all

END
Note: As I didn't find a better genre for this, I put it into Fan Fiction for now.

This took some time, but I am finally finished writing it.
This isn't the best story.
But at least it would kill the "Sonic's friends cannot run fast" crap.

Sadly, there wasn't any decent Sonic racing game.
Sonic R had a great concept, but was flawed.
And Sonic Riders is just an insult for Sonic.
The board concept stinks, as it makes no sense.
And to add further insult to it:
The board can't even nearly get as fast as Sonic normally can.

This is my idea for a good Sonic racing game.
And it does make sense gameplay-wise. Don't you agree?
Okay, it does sound like an F-Zero and Mario Kart clone.
But meh, Starfox Adventures also was a Zelda-clone.
Was it a bad game? Not at all.

As for the character roster:
I decided to re-use older characters and original ones.
As the new Sonic Characters just plain suck.
With the exception of Blaze and Marine.

I also decided to re-use classic worlds.
We need classics.

Okay, but I guess you should just read it, if you haven't already.

That's about it. :)

EDIT: I fixed some little things. ;)

This idea is GREAT! But you should add Tails Doll and Metal Knuckles to the list of unlockable characters XP Metal Knuckles was great in the original game and I am pretty sure that most of the popularity of Sonic R is due to Tails doll and the creepypastas about him XDDD It is a shame that SEGA never used him again after that game : (
