Okay, this is my first stamp. So of course it is pathetic.

I think its message is quite important however. It is something that needs to be told.
"Tourneyfaqs, Smash Trolls, Tier Lists are ruining the Smash Bros Fanbase!"

That is way oversimplifying it though. So let's get into more detail.

NOTE:If you don't like this stamp or the message of it and/or aren't in to mood to read a rant about it, then just leave and don't comment.

Tier Lists
What are Tier Lists?
Well, let's take all the Characters and put them into different groups, depending on how 'useful' they are.
These groups are called tiers.
Characters on high tiers are considered nearly invincible, while characters on low tiers are considered utterly useless.

Especially on official tournaments, these tiers are considered a law, the absolute truth.

And here is where I object.
Despite how detailed this list might be, it is just saying 'Snake is better than Yoshi, Metaknight is better than Ganondorf.' etc.
And this is nothing more than an opinion.

Some ppl say "Tiers were created by absolute pros, who researched the game for years and discovered all strengths and weaknesses of every character. And since they are masters at this game and researched every character for so long, this tier list is fact."
BULLSHIT! They may have played the game for years and gained high experience. However, does this justify them to consider their opinion a law? Does this give them the right to consider everyone who plays with Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, etc a worthless n00b? I don't think so.
Regardless how much experience the creators of these tier lists might have, it doesn't make it anymore than an opinion.
Saying character x is better than y is an opinion, it always was and always will be.
Okay, the characters are indeed different and some characters need more time to master them than others (such as Olimar). But that doesn't make them any less useful than any other character.
Besides, different ppl have different styles. Heck, expierienced Ganondorf players can beat expierienced Metaknight players.

Actually the outcome of a match doesn't depend on the abilities of the chosen character.
No, it depends on how well the player can handle the chosen character.

Bottom line: Tiers don't matter crap. Find out for yourself, which characters are the best for you!

PS: If you believe in tiers, be my guest. I respect your opinion. But don't force them on me, neither say it is a law/fact (which it isn't).


Tourneyfaqs/Smash Trolls
Okay, what are tourneyfaqs? They are best described as ppl, who go to official tournaments.
Who consider the above mentioned tier lists as fact, think Sakurai intentionally included moves like Wavedashing, force this on other ppl and even insult them over it.
Smash Trolls are the same, only difference that they don't go to tournaments.

what can I possibly say how much these ppl piss me off?
As I mentioned above, saying characters ab are better than xy, etc. are opinions, not facts.
But these ppl consider these things as absolute law in Smash games and force it on everyone who doesn't believe in this.
I said several times why tiers don't matter and I got hammered for it.
And honestly, I am sick of all these random insults I am getting from them.
They only respect their opinion that they believe to be a 'law' and are totally disrespectful to ppl who think otherwise.
Honestly, how often have ppl being harassed because their main fighters are Bowser, Captain Falcon or Mewtwo, because they are low tiers?
Very often I must say. And I am sick of this BS.

These ppl seriously should start to realize that their 'laws' are actually opinions and that other ppl have different options.
Honestly, it is just a game meant for fun. Why taking it so seriously?


Ah yes, there is one more thing. One more quote actually:
"For some ppl Smash Bros isn't just a game, it's a sport. It's like their daily job."
Okay, I actually pity the kind of ppl who actually think that way.
In other words, they are obsessed and do nothing in their daily life, but sitting in front of their TV and played Smash Bros.
Smash Bros isn't sport, neither is it a job. It isn't healthly for your body, neither do you earn money from it.
It is just meant for fun in your freetime, nothing more nothing less.
How ppl can actually think that way is beyond me.



'Advanced' Moves
Rather a minor point, but something worthy to discuss about nontheless.
I mentioned moves like Wavedashing, etc. above already. Many ppl consider them as advanced moves, while some other call them bugs.
Of course, Tourneyfaqs say that Nintendo intentionally included them in order to make them more deep.
Well sorry to burst your bubble. Okay, they can't be considered a bug really, but Nintendo didn't intentionally put them in either.
In short words: included by mistake

And if Nintendo intentioally put them in: Why didn't Nintendo mention them anywhere? Why didn't Sakurai mention Goon Farming, etc. on the Smash Bros Dojo?
Simply because Nintendo didn't intentionally built them in.

"Smash Bros is supposed to be that way. Easy to pick on, hard to master."
Again, BULLSHIT!
If I want to a fighting game that is hard to master, then I play game like Tekken or Soul Calibur, which force you to memorize hundreds if not thousands of button-combinations in order to truly master them.
Smash Bros is NOT supposed to be that way. It is supposed to be an easy game, where there is not much difference between beginners and pros.
Key word: Equal oppotunity

The only thing that can be a little bit hard to master are the combos, which are not necessary to win a match though.
Otherwise, Smash Bros is supposed to be a game for everyone, not only for pros.
It is sad that so many ppl fail to see this.

Look, if you like using these moves, I am not stopping you. Use them as you see fit.
But don't insult ppl over it. K? K.



And thus my rant comes to an end.
I know my explanation suck, but I am german so I hope you can understand.
Last time: I am not against ppl, who believe in tiers. Neither I am against ppl, who use these Advance Moves.
But I am against Disrespectfulness and insults. Respect the opinions and choices of others.

That is my message that might save the Smash Bros fanbase from being so spoiled as it is right now.
